Farrier

A note on Covid-19

Current guidance from government and the Farriers Registration Council recognises farriery as essential work for animal welfare. At present, I therefore remain available for appointments. Strict social distancing measures will be maintained at all times during visits.

The situation is changing rapidly and guidance from the government and FRC is subject to change. Please recheck this page regularly for up to date information.

Hello there

Roger Skinner profile picture

Thank you for visiting my website.

I started my apprenticeship in 1973 with Harrold Parr A.F.C.L. (ex-cavalry farrier), based in the New Forest at The Forge, Brockenhurst. His retirement due to ill health lead me to complete my apprenticeship with Stephen Belasco R.S.S. Hons. at Bramshaw Forge.

At 21 years of age I was given the opportunity to take the lease of The Forge from Mr. Geoff Way and worked from there until 1997 when the property was sold. Since then I have been based in West Wellow, near Romsey and continued as a mobile farrier.

I shoe and trim everything from Miniature Shetlands to Shires, mules and donkeys.

I can be contacted via email or phone for any further information and bookings.
